IDT Expands VersaClock 5 Family with Six New Products, Delivering Best-in-Class Jitter Performance in Cost-Effective Configurations
The Low-power Programmable Clock Generators Vary in Numbers of Outputs and Output Types, Enabling Engineers to Meet Exact Timing Needs for Various Applications
SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 10, 2014 – Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) (NASDAQ: IDTI) today expanded its VersaClock® 5 family of low-power field-programmable clock generators with six new products that deliver industry-leading capabilities in multiple configurations to match varying application types. By having different numbers and types of outputs, the new products are designed to meet specific engineering needs, providing a complete clock tree while removing unnecessary outputs and expense.
“Since being introduced in March, VersaClock 5 has garnered industry-wide attention for delivering best-in-class jitter performance at half the core power of competing devices,” said Dave Shepard, vice president and general manager of IDT’s Timing and RF Division. “By offering six new configurations with differing numbers of outputs and output types, we can enable engineers to meet their stringent jitter requirements with the same industry-leading technology as the original VersaClock 5 device.”
IDT’s multi-output timing solutions consolidate system components with superior design flexibility, making them ideal for cost-sensitive, low-power consumer and low-jitter communications applications. The initial 5P49V5901 VersaClock 5 offering features four universal output pairs capable of producing four independent programmable frequencies up to 350 MHz with programmable output types of LVPECL, LVDS, HCSL and LVCMOS and with industry-leading jitter performance of only 0.7 psec RMS Phase Jitter at 30 mA core current consumption.
The new devices offer universal outputs as well as versions with LVCMOS-only outputs, all capable of generating any output frequency up to 350 MHz with the same jitter performance and core current consumption.
|Part Number||Functionality||Output Type|
|5P49V5913||PLL with 2 Fractional Output Dividers||2 Configurable Output Pairs Plus Reference Output|
|5P49V5914||PLL with 3 Fractional Output Dividers||3 Configurable Output Pairs + Reference Output|
|PLL with 2 Fractional Output Dividers||2 LVCMOS Outputs + Reference Output|
|PLL with 4 Fractional Output Dividers||4 LVCMOS Outputs + Reference Output|
|PLL with 3 Fractional Output Dividers||6 LVCMOS Outputs + Reference Output|
|PLL with 4 Fractional Output Dividers||8 LVCMOS Outputs + Reference Output|
The 5P49V5913 and 5P49V5914 devices have 2 and 3 universal outputs respectively along with a reference output, enabling customers to get the exact functionality they need on their systems in the most cost effective manner. The 5P49V5923, 5P49V5925,5P49V5927, 5P49V5929 have 3, 5, 7, and 9 LVCMOS outputs respectively, replacing multiple LVCMOS crystal oscillators with a low-cost, low-power single-device solution saving board space and expense.
Pricing and Availability
All VersaClock 5 devices are available now, priced from $1.0 to $4.5 in 1K volumes.
